NUIST and VRVis Signed A Cooperation Agreement

    The cooperation agreement was signed between NUIST and VRVis in Beijing on March 26. Mr. Heinz Fischer, President of Austria who was present at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015 attended the agreement-signing ceremony.

  
    Attended by Dr. Georg Stonawski, CEO of VRVis, Dr. Si Xinliang, Principle Research Scientist, Mr. Liu Zhongyi, Chief Representative for China, Prof. Jiang Jianqing, President of NUIST, Prof. Min Jinzhong, Vice President of NUIST, the agreement-signing ceremony was held at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center.

  
    According to the agreement, NUIST and VRVis will co-establish the Popular Science Education Platform on virtual simulation visualization technology and and co-construct the Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for Atmospheric Science and Meteorological Information at NUIST, as well as the Institute for Information and Virtual Reality Visual Computing Industry. Besides, NUIST and VRVis will also apply for international science and technology projects together and strengthen the communication and exchanges between the staff.


    VRVis is Austria's leading research company in the field of Visual Computing. Together with the Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms at the Vienna University of Technology and the Visualization Commission of the Austrian Academy of Science, VRVis forms one of the largest computer graphics research groups in Europe. It is an active partner for research initiatives of the federal government and the City of Vienna. Its higher aim is to strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of Austria. Dr. Georg Stonawski paid a visit to NUIST in 2014.
