In 2010, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology became the first unit in Jiangsu Province to be approved as an undergraduate major in translation, which is now a national first-class undergraduate major. The construction of undergraduate majors in translation has accumulated rich experience for the training of master students majoring in translation. In 2014, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council, it was approved to recruit Master of Translation and Interpreting (Master of Translation and Interpreting) to cultivate professional translation talents, with two directions: Chinese-English translation and Chinese-Japanese translation.
The master degree in translation (MTI) is guided by social needs, takes translation practice activities as the starting point, and takes school-enterprise joint training as the guarantee of the training concept. Relying on the school's superior disciplines, highlighting the characteristics of scientific and technological translation, and according to the needs of economic and social development, cultivate high-level, application-oriented, and compound translation talents with innovative and practical abilities, solid professional skills, and rich professional experience. The master's degree site has the only demonstration center for experimental teaching in colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province - Multidimensional Language Comprehensive Training Center, with an area of about 2,000 square meters and complete software and hardware. teaching tasks. 2. Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)
In 2017, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology was approved as a master's degree authorization point for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, and officially enrolled students in September 2019. This degree program cultivates high-level students with good scientific and humanistic qualities, a broad international perspective, systematic and solid professional knowledge of international Chinese language education, strong Chinese language teaching ability, Chinese culture communication ability, and cross-cultural communication ability, who are competent for various teaching tasks. The degree project has the Confucius Institute at the University of the Bahamas, which is the fourth university in Jiangsu Province to set up a Confucius Classroom overseas; the degree project has the fifth HSK online test center in Jiangsu Province; the school is the Chinese government, Hanban, Jiangsu Provincial Government, Nanjing City The government scholarship unit has more than 1,000 international students in the school. 3.Chinese Language and Literature

The major of Chinese Language and Literature has been enrolling undergraduate students since 2000, and a master’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature as a first-level discipline was approved to grant in 2017, including five research directions: Theory of Literature and Art, Chinese Classical Philology, Ancient Chinese Literature, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. The enrollment started in 2019, and there are currently 13 postgraduates. The degree program has 18 master tutors, including 5 professors and 13 associate professors, all of whom hold doctoral degrees. In recent years, the program has assumed over 20 projects supported by the National Social Science Fund (ranked 6th in Jiangsu province), 1 project by the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Science Fund, and 8 other provincial-level projects. More than 200 academic papers have been published, including 83 CSSCI papers, and 15 monographs. The program has won 5 provincial-level or above scientific research achievement awards. Rooted in the excellent traditions of Chinese Language and Literature, based on the geographical advantage of the Yangtze River Delta and neighboring provinces, and combined with meteorological culture and other resources of the university, Master of Chinese Language and Literature has built a database of 30 million characters of meteorological historical literature, made achievements in meteorological aesthetics, literature and climatic geography, literature and image research, local literature study, and poetry, and has established a distinctive discipline equipped with a strong faculty and focused on interdisciplinary research as well as regional cultural construction.
4. Foreign Languages and Literatures

Master of Foreign Languages and Literatures was established in 1978 as an English major for undergraduates, and in 2001, the Department of Japanese was added. In 2011, the first translation major in Jiangsu Province was approved, and was granted the master’s degree in 2014. In 2017, the master program in first-level discipline in Foreign Languages and Literatures was approved, and now is the key cultivation target of doctoral program. In 2019 and 2020, the English major and translation major were respectively approved as the first-class undergraduate majors in Jiangsu Province. At present, we have built a cultivation system from English, Japanese, and translation undergraduate programs to master’s programs in professional translation and academic Foreign Languages and Literatures, covering three master’s majors in English Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature, and Russian Language and Literature, and four research directions in Foreign Literature, Translation Studies, Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in Foreign Languages, and Country and Regional Studies.
